Flower Pot Mound/Lake Coldwater

There is a legend of a man hearing a ghost on Flower Pot Mound in 1854 as told in this book, but luckily it didn't visit me.

Can you see the gypsum?

Those are my Gyp Hills! Did you take the scenic tour? You can see the gyp in the sides of the hills.

I didn't even know that lake existed. I can't wait to go out there and look around. Nice pics, as always, you have a good eye!

Love you-
Robert

Yes, Jenny, I did the scenic tour and even went to Hardtner! Just took a day trip last Thursday. I was planning on going and then found that Medicine Lodge book at the library. It was pretty interesting. I didn't go to the stockade museum or Cary Nation House--better save that for later.

We did the Flint Hills Scenic Byway last summer and home to do more scenic byways in the state. Day trips are so nice, being able to sleep in your own bed at the end of the day.

Interesting stuff there Kim, and nice photos. I've been to the area, even taken a whirlwind tour around that scenic drive; now I must get back out there with my camera gear and time to explore and shoot! Unfortunately that's more than a day trip from where I live...

Thanks for sharing
