Heritage Food: Zwieback

My husband's grandma was Mennonite, and since I enjoy baking bread I thought I'd try to make these for Thanksgiving. I've seen them spelled as Zweibach, too. Here are the recipes his aunt gave me that were from his mom's mom.

Ran out of time to take a picture of the finished product. Please use your imagination for what they would look like when baked. Please don't use your imagination to associate them with a certain part of the female anatomy.

I look forward to when you have an excuse to make some more. It turned out really well, and I think everyone that got to have any thought it was great!

Love you!

Emanuel Ashiedu is bringing the taste of Louisiana straight to the heart of Kansas with the opening of two new Sam’s Southern Eatery locations, one in Salina and another in Hutchinson under his management. With a commitment to authentic Southern flavors, Sam's has quickly attracted a dedicated following, offering traditional Southern dishes such as po'boys, fried catfish, hushpuppies, and okra, now making waves in Central Kansas.
