1Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. Psalm 100 (kjv)
This was read at the service last night at Wheatland Mission (www.wheatlandmission.blogspot.com). I remember Charlie having us memorize it in Disciple Bible Study, but don't think I could recite it fully now. It just seems familiar. Maybe I need to strengthen that part of my brain more.

Oh yeah, a couple of years ago I bought some Navigator's book at at a used book sale and tried to memorize 5 different verses at once while I was on the treadmill...should try to look for it again.
Back to Psalm 100: I like the King James' version in verse 3 about it is He that made us and not we ourselves...The other versions just say "we are His".
Memorization always ends up kicking me in the butt. That's a tough one. I do think it's valuable but I struggle with committing to it. It's nice to know some basic verses though. Thanks for commenting on friendship. Even though I'm just from KC, I feel the same way when I go home. I want to focus on my family, whom I don't get to see often enough. So we've not focused on some of those friendships, but we still keep in touch via Christmas letters, etc. I will say though, that most of those friendships began in college, and there's a special bond there. We can pick up with our college friends really quickly. Talk to you soon! So glad you guys are enjoying Wheatland!
ReplyDeleteI just told mom yesterday that I think our heads empty like our bodies. Our creator knows this and maybe He even designed us this way so that we literally turn to Him.
ReplyDeleteI hide His word in my heart. Ask my worn out Bibles. Do you think that means memo or could even mean meditation/reading?
Memo has always been difficult for me. (Ask the 2nd grade witch, I mean teacher, who cast me as Mrs. Klaus.)
