Tulips for Dad
These are tulips I planted in memory of my dad. Saw the idea of a memory garden awhile ago and thought it was a good idea. This fall I'll need to get some pink ones in memory of Lisa.
If you're going to buy tulips and want them to come back every year or naturalize, I would suggest Darwin Hybrid tulips. Unlike daffodils, not all are meant to come back every year.

Birds
A couple times a year a bird or two moves into this house outside our kitchen window for a while. This is one of those times.
Guess Ty would say this is God showing the love in regards to our previous conversation.
Are these wrens or swallows, Mom? Don't think they're chickadees because they have some brown on the dorsum of their neck.
p.s. Now the fun starts...my mom figured out how to comment. This will be fun!

Pics from the yard
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
(from In Christ Alone song)
This was the first tulip, but it was gone the next day along with chewed up leaves. I'm suspecting the below partook of some nourishment.

New stickers
Last fall, Kansas passed a law in which it is okay to carry a concealed weapon, but you have to take a class which is $150 in order to legally do so. This is along with a thorough background check. Now these stickers have been popping up in businesses all over including my place of employment. Since I work at home, I can have guns in my house...I just can't bring them to a meeting or if I come work in the office.
Wonder if they are allowed at the post office...Probably not.
What I spent my half of the tax return on
We had to replace a sun tunnel (like a skylight) that the previous owners put in over 10 years ago. My husband patched it up when it first started leaking in the fall, but started leaking again along with another vent pipe.
I guess there are worse things to have to spend the money on...medical bills, for example.

Blueberry!
My two brothers are up visiting my mom for spring break. They had an impromptu family reunion with 14 members on Sunday and decided to make kuchen (German coffee cake) yesterday. They said they'd save me some for when I come in April. Below is the email from my mom. Thought you might enjoy it, too.
Hello: the kyds are learning that my oven doesn't work too good. Clark is also producing a cheese cake after he learned his "Cholesterol is punning high.
We are wondering what your favorite kuchen is. choices are. cherry; blueberry; apricot ; cottage cheese or even supreme. there is a lot of eating going on.

Church doesn't suck
What's the buzz around Wichita? A billboard from Gracepoint Church that states "Church Doesn't Suck". What do you think? To tell you the truth, I was more surprised at the pastor's name, Bryson Butts. Hope his sister's name isn't Bertha. A reporter was on the news last night interviewing people to see what they think. Two people said they were offended and wouldn't go to that church. When they interviewed the pastor, he said those aren't the people whom he's trying to reach. Hmmm... Good comeback.
